UX Audit, Platform Refinement, and Design System Ownership for ZEAM

Auditing and Refining a Multi-Product Fintech Platform

I was brought on to ZEAM to conduct a full system UX audit across both the consumer and merchant sides of the platform. On the consumer side, the primary focus was reducing user drop-off during and after the KYC process, where usability and flow issues were creating friction. Through the audit, I identified several key problem areas and worked with the team to implement targeted improvements, which resulted in improved progression through KYC. In parallel, I conducted a full UI overhaul of the merchant experience, addressing usability issues on physical devices by increasing touch target sizes, improving input clarity, and aligning the interface more closely with established platform conventions. In addition to product work, I was responsible for creating and maintaining ZEAM’s design system, managing version control, and owning the developer handover process across products. My role also included a UX audit of the marketing website as a final phase of engagement.

Outcome

The work resulted in a more coherent and usable platform across ZEAM’s consumer, merchant, and operational products. Improvements to the KYC experience helped reduce friction in critical user journeys, while the merchant UI overhaul delivered a cleaner, more usable interface suited to real-world device use. The introduction of a structured design system and a clear developer handover process improved consistency across products and supported more efficient collaboration between design and development, providing ZEAM with a stronger foundation for continued growth.
